The territory of the mound was revised in 1994. It consists of a 2.7 ha forest area, including one barrow on the south-western part.
Meanwhile, the mythological hollow stone of Lūžai is located about 1.2 km south-west of Lūžai mound and barrow.
The coarse-grained pink granite is 1.25×1.3 m wide and 70-75 cm high with hewn sides and traces of 3 cm-wide grooves. The top of the stone features a 49×52 cm and 5-8 cm deep bowl with a 1.75 cm-wide and 0.5-0.8 cm-deep groove. In 1971 a 10.5 sq.m area around the stone was researched by the Institute of History. Researchers concluded that the stone was located at the edge of a hole, with its bottom resting against stone splinters. The hole featured a 15 cm burnt layer with a layer of stone splinters underneath. It is believed that in the 16th-17th c. this was a place of worship.
